Wheatstalk clamshells, plates and bowls are manufactured from stalks of wheat, an annually renewable source.

Construction: This paper is made from the wheat straw that remains after the grain has been removed.

Performance: Hot and cold foods. Freezer and microwave safe.  

Compost-ability:  Commercially compostable and breaks down well in home systems.

Replacing: Styrofoam, petroleum plastic and poly-lined paper. Recycling most of these materials is not going to happen in the municipal single stream, especially if they have food waste on them. Landfill bound. Apart from the ones that get away…coming soon to a creek near you.
